Interestingly, nearly all this equipment comes with control software. From the translator's perspective, this demands good knowledge of software and IT in addition to understanding the core subject matter. The number of such projects is growing in our experience, i.e. manufacturers increasingly use IT to automate their products. This trend means that many translators will have to specialise in IT to a certain degree, in order to be able to continue translating in their usual areas of expertise.

Recently, Velior has visited Softool 2008 Expo in Moscow. This large Expo designed to announce the latest information technology was held for 19th time. On October, 2, Dmitry Kudryashov represented Velior at the Expo Centre. Because information technology and software localisation are some of the key specialisations at Velior, the Expo hosted a good number of our prospects. Dmitry sat down with a number of Velior's potential buyers and also distributed marketing collateral. The participants were specifically informed about our current promotion, "33% off 3 jobs".

In 2008, Velior launched training courses that revolve around sharing translation best practices. This new service is designed to fulfil the demand for the latest technology, coming basically from the university graduates new to the industry or those translators who seek to improve their skill.
