DTP

DTP (Desktop Publishing, typesetting) service is designed to prepare your content for print, web or any other publication. Typically, this includes placing text, pictures and graphics on a page, compiling contents and index, adding page numbering and corporate style items.

Target Segment

This service is designed for customers who have, or will have, content to be prepared for publication. Typically, DTP goes hand in hand with translation, as the translated text usually does not correspond to original page designs. Another typical scenario is when a customer creates their own non-formatted content and needs to have it properly typeset for end user such as with marketing brochures or user manuals.

Workflow

The customer provides the text to be typeset. Velior's Project Manager estimates the scope and prepares a quote including price, schedule and other details. Upon the customer's confirmation, we typeset the text and deliver by the deadline.

Quality and Warranty

Velior checks the typeset text by using in-house linguist for DTP issues*. This process is designed to deliver content without any DTP-related problems such as incorrect content or index pages and dispaced text or images. Velior provides a lifetime product warranty: we fix any defects quickly and free of charge.

Scope

DTP largely depends on the content intent and target audience. It may be simpler as with user manuals typically requiring non-complex page design, and placement of graphics. With marketing content, DTP is more design-intensive and requires more effort.

Velior provides DTP services in all common DTP environments such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign CS3, QuarkXPress Passport. We support both typesetting from scratch and update of existing design such as in an after-translation scenario.
